Halloween hi-jinks in the dark, dark woods!

Thursday 31st Oct 2013

If you went down to the woods this week you would have witnessed some hi-jinks of the extreme nature as Scotland’s newest aerial assault course, Aloft! got spooky!

The course held two specially themed evenings this week which saw visitors and guests transform by twilight into Halloween dare devils, whizzing through magical coloured, floodlit treetops with just a head torch to light the way.

Aloft! opened in Crieff in September, offering a new breathtaking adventure experience in Perthshire.  Situated on the 600 acre Crieff Hydro estate, around £200k was been invested to create the new treetop experience which offers nearly 30 obstacles from tightropes to cargo nets, seven zip lines and over two hours of high jinks and outdoors adventure for Scotland’s daredevil daytrippers!

Turret Trail, with its rope bridges, tightropes and tricky obstacles begins 2.5 metres up in the air and climbs as high as 8 metres, making it ideal for all, from those looking to whet their appetite for adventure, to those who dare go no higher!

Meikle’s Keep has a variety of tricky obstacles, see saws, cargo nets, short zip lines and lots to explore before a speedy ending with a whizz past the treetops back to terra firma on its 160 metre zip wire.

Eagle’s Nest, the most challenging of the three courses, offers groups with a head for heights and Tarzan tendencies a physical and mental challenge with its 12 metre high ropes, bridges, obstacles and nets and a daring 160 metre rush through the trees on its zip wire.

The Halloween themed evenings were a huge success and Aloft! will soon announce dates for its ‘Christmas Tree Adventures’ nights for December!

The woods will be brought to life again with colour, sparkle and plenty of Christmas magic for all the family with mulled wine, face painting, carol singing and some Christmas suprises.

Who said reindeers don’t fly!
