Water Sports (seasonal)

From April to the end of October. That’s when Loch Earn’s 10km of watery fun usually opens for business. We say ‘usually’ – it really depends on how early spring and winter arrive. After all, we don’t want you chittering your way through your session.

Handy tips

Where is it?

Located just 12 miles from the hotel, our centre is the one and only place for watersports at Loch Earn.

If coming from Crieff, drive through Comrie and continue on towards St Fillans.  Just before you get into St Fillans, take the single track bridge on the left hand side. Once across the bridge, you will see St Fillans Golf Club on your left.  Continue for around a mile and you will see sign for Crieff Hydro Watersports on the right hand side. The postcode is PH6 2NL.

What is there?

  • Toilets & changing rooms
  • DIY BBQ
  • Undercover picnic benches
  • Wetsuits, helmets and life jackets
  • New X2 Mastercraft speed boat
  • Water skiing/wake boarding/kneeboarding/inflatables

What you’ll need to bring:

  • Towels and dry clothing
  • Food to keep your energy levels up!
  • For the BBQ, fuel and food!

When does it run?

Watersports typically run on Fridays and Sundays* from 16th May until the end September.

Who can do it?

Anyone over the age of 11 years old can try their hand (and feet) at wake boarding and water skiing.

For the younger ones, inflatable fun can be had for kids aged 6years and older. To ensure kids have fun out on the water, under 11’s must be accompanied by an adult over 18 when being towed.

Spotters!

To ensure that everyone has as much fun as possible and stays safe, groups are asked to nominate a member of their party (aged over 16 years old) to be a spotter – a great job for anyone who is not a fan of getting wet!

(A spotter is a designated person in the boat who is in charge of watching the water-sport participants.)

How do I book?

To book watersports, call 01764 651 671, our team will be happy to help.

Pre-payment is required for watersports for those who are not staying with us. However if you are, don’t worry about bringing money, we will charge it to your room (if a card has been left).
